About
Hello there! My name is Eunice and I'm a web developer. I am a recent graduate from NAIT's Digital Media and IT program, specializing in Web Design and Development. I strive to create visually engaging websites without compromising performance. With a strong eye for detail, I approach every project with a commitment to delivering high-quality, pixel-perfect results. I am committed to continuously learning new skills and techniques to stay on top of industry trends.
My passion in creating for the web began back in 2011 when I submitted some (admittedly terrible) GIFs I made to one of the biggest Harry Potter update accounts on the now closed-down Multiply.com to use for their theme — and they actually used it! However, my first exposure to web languages wasn't until 2014, when the pursuit of having an aesthetic Tumblr blog led me to editing a lot of custom themes and learning a lot about HTML and CSS in the process.
During the pandemic, I decided to formally learn coding but quickly realized I needed to start with the basics. I took freeCodeCamp's Responsive Web Design course and loved working on the small projects included in the curriculum. This experience solidified my passion for web development and inspired me to return to school to pursue a diploma, allowing me to turn this newfound passion into a career. Previously, I had completed a two-year Practical Nursing program and held a license, but web development felt like the right path for me—and the rest is history.
Outside of coding…
I enjoy traveling (I am always the designated trip planner!), listening to music, going to concerts, watching K-dramas, and playing video games. I'm also an avid fan of BTS and Harry Potter.
I'm also proficient in three languages beyond web development syntaxes. Born and raised in the Philippines, I am fluent in my native Tagalog in addition to English. I can also read and write in Korean (한국어) and can speak the language conversationally, a skill I picked up thanks to my many years of watching Korean shows.
